Even him? There are all kinds of WWE stars on the roster and some of them have been able to reach the top of the card. Those are the wrestlers who often become the focal point of everything that the company is doing, which can make them rather valuable to WWE. Occasionally though, those stars wind up leaving, which may be the case again if something doesn’t change.

According to PWInsider.com, Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract is set to expire soon and the two sides have not yet come to terms on a new deal. There is no specific date on when the contract expires, but it is said to be in its final year. The two sides reportedly “aren’t even close” to coming to an agreement on a new deal. McIntyre is set to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 39 in a triple threat match also involving Sheamus.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that happens from time to time but what matters is that there is still time for the two sides to come together. McIntyre has been nothing short of a workhorse for the company in recent years and it would be sad to see him leave after such a run. If nothing else, WWE would need to replace him and that is not something that can easily be done. Maybe they can still figure this out, but for now it is something hanging over both sides.
