OUCH. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and several of them come from wear and tear throughout a wrestler’s career. Wrestling is a very physical sport and something can go wrong out of nowhere. At the same time though, there is always the chance that something can just be an accident that doesn’t even happen in the ring. That has happened again and it was rather serious.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A Different Role: Big Update On Carmella’s WWE Status

This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured a backstage segment when Don Callis was trying to apologize to Hangman Page when the Blackpool Combat Club attacked both of them. The segment ended with Callis down and bleeding, which according to PWInsider.com was completely legitimate. When Callis fell, he hit his head on a lighting rig and was legitimately busted open. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Callis was taken to the hospital due to the injury and was kept overnight. While he did not suffer a concussion, he did have to receive stitches for “a giant deep gash”.

Callis is better when his head isn’t split open. Check out some of his time in AEW:

Opinion: That is horrible to see and hopefully everything is ok as fast as it can. Callis wasn’t even doing anything wrong and wound up getting pretty banged up. It would be nice to have him back next week, as there is a good chance that AEW could turn this into part of whatever Callis and company are doing at the moment. That could be a nice use of a nasty injury, which is part of what makes wrestling work.
