Out of five, one. Next week’s Monday Night Raw is being billed as the season premiere. If you can get your head around the idea of a show having a season premiere without having a season finale, that almost guarantees a big show, which has a lot of potential. WWE is already stacking up the card, including a Universal Title match. That requires a #1 contender and they have that covered too.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Rey Mysterio won a fatal five way elimination match to earn a shot at the Universal Title next Monday. Mysterio last eliminated Robert Roode to win a match also involving Shinsuke Nakamura, Ricochet and AJ Styles. The match will mark Mysterio’s first singles match at the title and the first time Mysterio has ever faced Rollins one on one.
They’ve been friends before. Check out Mysterio and Rollins watching a Royal Rumble (this is pretty cool):
Opinion: Mysterio is a good choice for the win as he’s a perfectly believable challenger to the title and the match will likely be high quality. It seems that Mysterio is in his final run and giving him another shot at the title is a fine idea. There is even a glimmer of hope that he could win the title, as the Fiend could take the title from him on Sunday anyway. I can always go for more Mysterio, so this is quite a welcome result.
