Three for all! Winning a championship can make a huge difference in a wrestler’s career as it opens all kinds of new doors for them. It brings up the question of how will the reign go and what is next for the new champion, but also how the title reign will come to the end. Now we know who will get the chance to win a title at WrestleMania 39 but they will not come alone.

This week on SmackDown, Drew McIntyre met Sheamus in a #1 contenders match for a shot at the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania 39. The match did not have a winner, as Imperium interfered to cause a no contest. Following the match, WWE official Adam Pearce announced that as a result, both Sheamus and McIntyre would challenge Gunther for the title at WrestleMania in a triple threat match.

Opinion: I’m not sure how much of a surprise this really is and that is not a bad thing. The triple threat match has been set up for a few weeks now and this week saw the match officially set for WrestleMania. Gunther’s title reign has been quite the success so far and now he is in for perhaps his toughest title match to date. If he can hang on here, it could be a long time before anyone gets the title off of him.
