More than meets the eye. WWE runs a lot of television in any given week, with seven hours of national television between Monday Night Raw, NXT and SmackDown. That is a lot of material to cover and it means that WWE has its work cut out every time. Occasionally they have to mix things up a bit and that is what they did this week with a special editing trick to save themselves some time.

This week’s Monday Night Raw focused on SmackDown’s Bloodline stable appearing on the show and attacking various wrestlers. The show opened with Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns backstage, with the latter ordered the Bloodline to take people out. According to Fightful Select, Reigns was not present at this week’s Monday Night Raw, with his segment having been filmed separately and inserted into the show.

Opinion: This is one of those things that WWE can do to save itself some time and money. There was no need to have Reigns appear live at the show if he could spend a few more minutes at the last SmackDown and tape something in advance. It’s a good idea and something that WWE should have been doing for a rather long time now. Things are complicated enough in the first place, so why not make them simpler where possible?
