The one that got away. Over the last several years, one of the few dream matches that fans never got to see was Sting vs. Undertaker. Now that both seem to be retired, it’s safe to say that it’s never going to happen. While you almost never hear from Undertaker, Sting had some comments on the potential match in a recent interview.
On the match taking place at “Wrestlemania XXXI”:
“There was a worldwide desire to see that match. It was a dream match for me, too. I regret not being able to get in the ring with him one time. It would have been great, but I’m OK with the way it turned out.”
And if he regrets not having the match:
“Of course, if I had a chance, I’d do it. But look at ‘Taker’s career; did he miss out on anything? Look at my career. I don’t think I really missed out on anything, either.”

Opinion: I know that’s the one big match that so many people wanted and probably the second biggest dream match out there (second to only Undertaker vs. John Cena) but I wasn’t wild on seeing it. The match made sense in the late 90s but by the time Sting arrived in WWE, he really wasn’t at a point where the match would have worked as well anymore. I wouldn’t have complained about seeing it but I doubt I would have been really excited for the match.
