Another bunch for the pile. Last year, WWE debuted a match that was both long awaited and long overdue: the women’s Royal Rumble match. Just like the men’s version, thirty women joined into the match and competed for a title shot at the upcoming WrestleMania. The first event was won by Asuka and the second edition has been announced. Now we just need to fill in the lineup.
This week on Monday Night Raw, a good chunk of the roster for the match was filled as seven names were confirmed to be competing. During a six woman tag, it was announced that Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ember Moon, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan were all going to be taking part in the match. On the same show, Natalya was confirmed for the match as well. These seven join Carmella, who will be entering the match in the #30 spot.
Several of the women were very excited. Check out what three of them had to say:
Opinion: None of these are exactly shocking as at the moment, there are only twenty four women on the main roster with two of them holding titles. Assuming their titles are on the line at the Royal Rumble and their challengers aren’t in the match, it’s hard to imagine that these seven weren’t going to be included. Getting them announced is a good idea though and something that needed to be done.
