That’s one more…kind of. With six days to go until the 2017 Royal Rumble, most of the field for the thirty man battle royal is filled. This year’s lineup is one of the most star studded in recent years with several former World Champions vying for a shot at the main event of “Wrestlemania XXXIII”. However, one of them won’t be around.
This week on “Monday Night Raw”, Sami Zayn tried to enter himself into the match but Stephanie McMahon decided that he had to defeat Seth Rollins to qualify. On top of that, Rollins had to beat Zayn if he wanted to stay in the Royal Rumble. Zayn went on to win the match, meaning Rollins has been replaced in the match.
While it’s cool to see Zayn get in the match, I’m not sure what this leaves for Rollins. Of course he’s likely to get Triple H at “Wrestlemania XXXIII” but what is he going to do on Sunday? This comes off as a big plot device for the Wrestlemania match, even though that doesn’t do much for Rollins on Sunday.
