Competition isn’t always a good thing. This past Sunday night, WWE presented its first ever all women’s pay per view event with Evolution. The show was certainly historic and featured the past, present and future of the women’s division in an event designed to showcase the Women’s Revolution. Then Monday came and the show wasn’t talked about all that much. One person thinks they know why.
According to Mike Johnson on PW Insider Elite audio, Evolution was run by Triple H and his NXT crew of producers, including such things as the lights being turned down a bit lower. Monday Night Raw on the other hand was produced by the usual crew, headed by Kevin Dunn. The lack of mentioning of Evolution may have been a sign of a competition between the two crews. Johnson did make it clear that this was a theory rather than a fact.
The show was a big deal.
Opinion: I hope this isn’t the case and really, there’s a strong possibility that the lack of focus on Evolution was more due to the need to promote Friday’s Crown Jewel event. They don’t have a lot of time to get that show set up and it would make sense to dedicate as much time as possible on Monday Night Raw to get that show ready. That being said, it wouldn’t shock me if it was due to this ridiculous competition instead.
Do you think it was due to a competition between crews? Did you like Evolution? Let us know in the comments below.
