Not so fast. A wrestler returning can make for quite the special moment as you get to see them for the first time in a good while. At the same time, it can open up a variety of doors for the promotion, as a major star can be slotted into a variety of roles. That might be the case sooner than later, but it seems that a potentially returning star might not be doing what he has been rumored to be doing.

Randy Orton has been rumored to be making a WWE return in the near future, possibly as soon as Survivor Series. A rumor has been circulating that Orton is planned to win a major championship when he returns, but Fightful Select is reporting that this is not accurate. The report says that this idea “hasn’t been broached” backstage at WWE. Orton has been out of action with a back injury since May 2022.
Orton is absolutely a star. Check out what he can do when he is around:
Opinion: That does make a bit of sense for WWE, as having Orton come back and immediately winning a championship is a bit of a stretch. That being said, it would be hard to fathom Orton not being around the title scene sooner than later. Orton is one of the most successful stars in WWE history and having him around again would be quite the upgrade for WWE.
