Time to narrow things down. Believe it or not, it is almost time for the start of WrestleMania season. I know we aren’t that far removed from the summer and fall programs but the Royal Rumble is in about six weeks, meaning it’s time to start planning things out. Some seeds have been planted already and that means things are going to start being set in motion. Some of them may be more obvious than you think.
Earlier this year at WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch made history by winning the Raw Women’s Title and the SmackDown Women’s Title in the biggest match in the history of women’s wrestling. Lynch has not lost many steps since then and is still the Raw Women’s Champion. That makes her one of the biggest stars in all of wrestling and she is going to be in a big match at WrestleMania 36. But who will she be facing?
According to Wrestlingnews.co by way of Ringsidenews.com, there are two potential opponents for Lynch at WrestleMania 36, with Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler as the likely names. Lynch beat Rousey at WrestleMania 35 by pinning her in a triple threat match, also involving Charlotte. Baszler defeated Lynch and Bayley in a triple threat in the main event of Survivor Series by making Bayley submit. Lynch attacked Baszler after the match to end the show. At the moment, Baszler is considered the favorite as Rousey is not in a hurry to come back to WWE.
They both have history. Check out Lynch vs. Baszler and Rousey:
Opinion: These aren’t exactly surprises and there is nothing wrong with that. They have definitely set up a few things over the last year and you could go in either direction for Lynch. She is still one of the most over names on the entire roster and she could have a huge match against either of them. That being said, Rousey vs. Lynch is the money match but I’m not so sure if that’s the same with Baszler. Either way though, the match should be good.
