The Rock’s Movie Schedule May Keep Him From Working “Wrestlemania XXXIV”

Depends on the paperwork. The Rock is one of the interesting cases in wrestling as you never know when he’s going to show up in WWE. He hasn’t had a real match (ignoring the six second match at “Wrestlemania XXXII”) since 2013 and while there’s a chance that could change in about two months, there might be a big roadblock in his way. While the logical move might seem to be having the Rock team with Ronda Rousey to face HHH and Stephanie McMahon at “Wrestlemania XXXIV”, it’s not that simple.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, the Rock is scheduled to start shooting a movie called “Jungle Cruise” in May. This presents a problem as an injury sustained during a wrestling match would possibly delay the movie. Therefore, the company that insures the film production would be nervous to have the production delayed due to Rock being injured, causing the prices to be raised. This was the case in 2013 when Rock was injured at “Wrestlemania XXIX”, delaying the start of “Hercules”.

Opinion: I’d be surprised if Rock gets to do another big wrestling match as he’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world, meaning he’s in all kinds of movies almost all the time. It’s just too big a risk most of the time and with just over a month to go before the next movie starts, it’s kind of hard to imagine it happening. It would be fun, just unlikely.
