You have to fill in those spots somehow. We’re less than four weeks away from the Royal Rumble and that means we need sixty names for the show’s two namesake matches. Those matches are two of the most important of the year and while there are going to be some names on there that aren’t quite as big as others, some of the top stars in WWE are going to be there. That includes three names announced earlier tonight.
This week on SmackDown Live, New Day announced that all three members of the team will be included in the men’s Royal Rumble match. The addition of Big E., Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to the match brings the total number of men to five. The three of them join Drew McIntyre and R-Truth, the latter of whom will enter the match at #30 due to winning the Mixed Match Challenge.
Here’s the announcement. Ignore Big E.’s pancakes from his diaper:
Opinion: These names aren’t exactly surprising but they’re names who deserve to be in the match and will bring the energy up whenever they’re on screen. That’s the kind of thing that needs to be in the Rumble, if nothing else for Kingston’s traditional insane save. I know it’s not going to happen here, but I’d love to see Kingston get a World Title reign at some point, just for nostalgia if nothing else.
