Come on over? After decades of almost entire WWE dominance, the introduction of AEW has introduced a new place for top wrestling stars to showcase themselves for quite the hefty payday. It makes for an interesting situation when a talented and popular name becomes a free agent and that is the case again, though now we have an idea of where she might be signing.

Earlier this year, Mercedes Mone’s (formerly known as Sasha Banks) contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired, making her a free agent. This has led to a question of whether she would sign next. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are some in WWE who believe the company is denying the signing over and over, only to have her appear in the Royal Rumble at the end of the month. However, there are also those in AEW who believe that she will be starting with them soon. It is not clear when Mone will return to the ring, as she is still recovering from an ankle injury.

Opinion: While there is a chance that Mone signs with WWE, it feels more and more likely that she is going to be signing with AEW. That might be a better fit, as she has had more than a few issues with WWE in the past. While it would be a cool moment to see her return in the Royal Rumble, I’m really not sure I can see it happening. AEW seems to be the better and more likely destination, which is not a bad thing.
