Size it up. Titles are one of the easiest way to tell which wrestlers a fan should pay attention to. Someone holding a big shiny belt is a pretty obvious indicator that they have some value to them and that has been the case for a very long time. Occasionally the titles need an upgrade though, and that might be the case again as a new title is reportedly set to be introduced.

According to Fightful Select, WWE memos included a mention of a possible new “New WWE Universal Championship” as part of Roman Reigns’ 1000 day reign celebration set for this week’s SmackDown. The situation is being described as when The Rock unveiled the new WWE Championship in 2013. This is NOT confirmed to be taking place and is only being mentioned at the moment.

Opinion: This is something that could be rather interesting, as the image of Reigns holding both titles has always been a little strange. At the same time, I would certainly hope that the two titles are unified into one belt rather than dropping either lineage. There is no reason to mix things up that much, especially the WWE Championship. For now though, this sounds like a good idea and something that is more than a bit overdue.
