One side against the other. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works as there is now another major promotion where wrestlers can go. This includes a variety of wrestlers throughout various generations, with some of them being far more established than others. At the same time, that might not sit well with WWE, who can punish wrestlers for doing something they don’t like.

During a recent edition of his 1 Of A Kind With RVD podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam suggested that he had lost an upcoming WrestleMania booking. While not flat out said, Van Dam implied that he is no longer booked for WrestleMania 40 due to recent appearances with AEW. It is not clear what role Van Dam was scheduled for at WrestleMania. Van Dam has made a handful of appearances with AEW, most recently this week on Dynamite.

Opinion: While I can see WWE’s side of things, this does feel like more than a bit of an overreaction. Van Dam is a legend who has worked for other promotions before and having him pop up on a few AEW shows is not going to diminish his drawing power for WrestleMania. That being said, if WWE did not let him know what would happen in the first place, that is a little bit less than fair.
