This week on SmackDown, a match between Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar was stopped when Mysterio was injured. According to PWInsider.com, Mysterio was legitimately knocked out on his feet after the dive, with the referee actually stopping the match as a result. Escobar was still planned to win the match by pinfall, so the final result was not changed. According to Fightful Select, there was also a planned backstage segment that had to be scrapped as a result.

Opinion: This sort of thing does happen occasionally and what matters most is Mysterio being healthy. From a storyline perspective, it doesn’t seem like too much was really changed and now all we get to do is wait for Mysterio to be completely healthy so he can get back in the ring.
