Not Just Yet? John Cena Reveals Major Update On His WWE Future

He’s not done. There are certain stars in wrestling who have reached levels of popularity and influence that are almost hard to fathom. Those are the names who have come to define entire generations in the industry and it can be a huge deal when they leave for good. That will be the case next year with an all time legend, but there is a caveat about his future plans.

Earlier this year, John Cena announced that 2025 will be his final year in the ring as an active wrestler. This will include a retirement tour which will see Cena wrestle at his final editions of a variety of WWE events. During an appearance on Club Shay Shay, Cena revealed that he has signed an extension with WWE for after 2025, though there is nothing to suggest that he will be remaining in the ring after the end of the year. There is no word on how Cena will be used after his in-ring career ends.

Opinion: This is not exactly shocking, as the idea of Cena not being a part of WWE is almost hard to fathom. Whether you like him or not, Cena is one of the biggest names in the history of the company and it is going to be a big deal when he isn’t in the ring any more. WWE seems ready to move forward with the end of Cena’s career as a wrestler but it is not going to be the end of his time in WWE, which is a great thing to hear.
