Fool me twice. Earlier this year, Brock Lesnar defended the Universal Title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 in what seemed to be the final match of his WWE run. But then Lesnar won. They fought again a few weeks later at Greatest Royal Rumble in what had to be Lesnar’s last match where he dropped the title. But then Lesnar won. Now we’re coming up on Summerslam where Reigns gets another shot in what almost has to be Lesnar’s last match. But…..hang on a second.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio by way of Givemesport.com, Vince McMahon is considering re-signing Lesnar to keep him around as he gears up for another run at the UFC Heavyweight Title. It’s possible that Lesnar could sign another short term deal like the one that he signed around WrestleMania 34, which is coming up at this year’s Summerslam. There is no word on how long the new contract would be for, should it be signed.
Remember when Lesnar returned and people were happy?
Opinion: Does this surprise anyone? WWE loves having Lesnar around and while he certainly does have some drawbacks (like almost never showing up), there is a certain aura to him. The problem is I fully believe WWE will keep the title on Lesnar for the sake of seeing how long he can hold the thing (two years is hardly out of the question), especially when he might be able to hold both titles at once.
Do you think Lesnar will stick with WWE? Do you want him to? Let us know in the comments below.
