He’s moved up. Wrestling merchandise has been a huge part of the industry for a very long time now and has only been growing in recent years. Fans wants to be able to wear clothing or buy gear that supports their favorite wrestlers, with WWE stars often being near the top of the list. Now though, a surprising name has moved onto the top of the sales charts for the time being.

According to Wrestlenomics, CM Punk topped the WWE merchandise sales chart for the month of May, despite not wrestling a match since January. Jey Uso slightly outsold WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes in merchandise during the same month for second place, with Uso’s black “YEET” shirt being the top men’s apparel item for the year to date. The fourth and fifth spots are held by Steve Austin and the Rock. The top five in order for May are:
1. CM Punk
2. Jey Uso
3. Cody Rhodes
4. Steve Austin
5. The Rock

Opinion: That is quite the collection of talent and it is all the more impressive when you factor in that three of those people have been out of action for the entire month. Uso being higher than Rhodes is interesting and shows you how far you can ride a single catchphrase. While Rhodes is still the top star in WWE, he isn’t the only big name in there and that could make things interesting.
