He’s climbing the ladder. I know he’s not the most popular guy in the world but the Miz has risen up from absolutely nothing to one of the biggest names in WWE. He’s held the Intercontinental Title more than anyone not named Chris Jericho but that’s not the only record he’s rapidly approaching.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, as of Thursday, Miz has held the Intercontinental Title for 456 days, surpassing the Honky Tonk Man’s mark for the third most days with the title in company history. This leaves Miz behind only Don Muraco at 541 days and Pedro Morales at 619 days. If Miz holds the title until the end of February, he’ll surpass Morales for the most combined days ever as champion. Of course he could lose the title and win it back later to continue approaching the record as well.

Miz has had quite the week, with this announcement as well:

The Miz and Maryse are having a baby

Opinion: Like him or not, that’s quite the accomplishment for someone who was once thrown out of the locker room for being annoying. Miz has carved quite the niche for himself in WWE and is a surefire Hall of Famer. There’s nothing wrong with being the king of the midcard, though I’d love to see him move up to the main event again at some point.

What do you think of Miz’s accomplishment? Should he break both records? Let us know in the comments below.
