Merry late Christmas. I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to suggest that NXT is one of the most popular shows in wrestling at the moment. We regularly get an hour a week showcasing the next generation of WWE stars but this time around there’s going to be something special.
According to WWE.com, the December 28, 2016 episode of NXT will be
a two hour special with matches from the Osaka, Japan house show airing in full. This will include Shinsuke Nakamura challenging Samoa Joe for the NXT Title, Tajiri making a rare appearance and NXT Tag Team Champions DIY in action.
Sure why not. I’m a huge NXT fan so it’s going to be cool to see even more of them than usual. There’s nothing wrong with having a special episode during the holidays as it allows a little extra time to set up something for the future while also not having to tape any extra TV shows to fill in the gap. The matches are already there so throw in some commentary and release them on TV.
