Say what? One of the less popular aspects of the WWE at the moment is the issue of scripted promos. Very rarely are wrestlers allowed to say their own words on camera, as most (if not all) of their lines are written out for them in advance. This takes away a lot of the creativity in their segments and makes almost everyone sound the same. But what if they just said something else?
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dean Ambrose went off script this week on Monday Night Raw. Ambrose told Seth Rollins to go and slay the Beast at WrestleMania 35 before sitting in a chair to finish the segment. Originally, the plan was to have Ambrose make a much longer speech before finishing with the same line. Instead he cut most of it out and said the last line only, in essence turning face in a single sentence.
Well what else would this be? Check out the segment with Ambrose’s revised script:
Opinion: The script being changed isn’t a big deal as no one but the people backstage knew what the original lines were supposed to be. You could argue that what Ambrose said wasn’t great (though you might have liked it) but it’s not like what he said was exactly different in the first place. This isn’t a big deal hopefully it isn’t treated like one, especially since Ambrose is apparently leaving soon enough anyway.
