That’s quite the honor. One of the big surprises for the “Monday Night Raw” after “Wrestlemania XXXIII” was the announcement of Kurt Angle as the new General Manager. Angle was named to the position three days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame but it turns out that the two events are connected.
“It was right around that time when I met with Triple H and he gave me the news. He wanted me to start on Monday. I believe it was Friday night, right before my speech. And I wasn’t surprised. There were a lot of rumors going around and Triple H reassured me they were just rumors. There was never any talk of me becoming General Manager until recently. A lot of sites that were saying that I was going to be the RAW GM, but they were wrong because I would have known at the time and nobody contacted me.”

Opinion: Could there be a more perfect choice for GM than Angle? He still has great comedic timing and can be intimidating enough to make the position work. Angle might wrestle another match down the road if necessary, though it really doesn’t need to happen. Either way, he’s a great option for the job and an upgrade over Mick Foley.
