That might be it for him. There are all kinds of ways for a wrestler to retire and that can make it more complicated. Wrestlers might claim to retire every so often but that does not mean they are going to be done for good. It can be quite the transitional period instead of everything being cut and dry, which seems to be the case with one of the biggest stars of this generation.

This week on AEW Collision, Bryan Danielson suggested that he was entering the final year of his in-ring career. According to Sports Illustrated, while Danielson might be stepping away from the ring full time, sources indicate he might be interested in wrestling “special attraction” matches. It is not clear how often that will be the case or how often Danielson would be appearing. Danielson has previously spoken about wanting to spend more time with his family, as his daughter has asked him to be home every night when she turns seven, which will take place within the next year.

Opinion: Danielson has talked about wanting to spend more time with his family for a long time now and he will be turning 43 years old next year. At some point everyone is going to wind it down in the ring, especially someone like Danielson, who has wrestled such a physical style. There is nothing wrong with wanting to spend more time with your family and I would certainly call that a valid reason to want to get out of the ring full time.
