That is not good. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who appear on national, if not international, television and reach a certain celebrity status. That can lead to them receiving a lot more attention than others, though they also have to deal with problems that many others have to deal with on a regular basis. Now a serious accusation has been made and it could lead to some major issues.
According to TMZ, WWE’s Matt Riddle made a since deleted post on Instagram accusing a Port Authority officer at JFK Airport in New York City of sexual assault and harassment. Riddle said that the incident was “really weird and uncomfortable” and accused the officer of making him feel “small and useless”.
TMZ’s report says that the Port Authority was informed of someone, now known to be Riddle, being “disorderly” while getting off his plane. Riddle was described as being “apologetic” when speaking to police. No charges were filed and everyone was free to go, but an internal investigation has been launched. WWE has not commented on the situation.
Riddle has been doing some interesting things in WWE as of late. Check out some of his recent work:
Opinion: That is an incredibly serious allegation and we are going to have to wait and see what the internal investigation finds. Riddle’s accusations should be taken seriously as there is no reason for anything like that to happen. It should be interesting to see how WWE responds to this, as Riddle has been featured more regularly on WWE TV in recent weeks, alongside Drew McIntyre.
