That’s a special honor. WrestleMania is the biggest and more important wrestling show of the year and being on the show means quite a bit. Winning a prominent match can mean even more, as it can be the kind of boost that a wrestler needs on the way to the next level. WWE makes their plans for the show a long way in advance, though that was only kind of the case for a special match.

Back at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, Kurt Angle defeated Shawn Michaels in a featured match. During a recent edition of The Kurt Angle Show, Angle revealed that Vince McMahon allowed the two to determine the winner. Michaels allowed Angle to win, citing an upcoming feud between Angle and WWE Champion John Cena. However, the feud did not take place until the fall, which was after the original plans. Michaels would go on to defeat Angle in a rematch at Vengeance in June of that year, which Angle said he knew would happen and had no problem with whatsoever.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes things all the more interesting, as it is the sort of trivia that gives a famous match another perspective. If nothing else, the two had an outstanding match but were also thinking towards the future. Michaels was looking ahead and was selfless with the situation, which is more than a lot of wrestlers would have done in the situation.
