Homecoming: Reigning WWE Champions Make Surprise Appearances At Independent Event

Special attraction. There are several talented wrestlers under the WWE banner and several of them became stars in promotions outside of WWE. You can often see the talent emerging from those smaller promotions for a long time but at some point those wrestlers have to head to the bigger leagues. That doesn’t have to be permanent though, and this week saw a return from some top stars.

According to 411mania.com, WWE Tag Team Champions DIY made a surprise appearance at this week’s AIW (Absolute Intense Wrestling) Against The World event on Thursday. The team cut a promo about their title defense this week on SmackDown against the Bloodline but did not get physical at the event. Gargano was a regular in the promotion and Ciampa had appeared there as well. There is no word on if WWE will continue to work with AIW.

You never know who’s gonna show up at @aiwrestling.

Opinion: This is one of those things that you get to see happen every so often and thankfully everyone wins. The fans get to see something special, AIW gets to brag about what you might see happen at a show, and WWE looks like they are letting someone else have fun. That is a great way to go and it worked well here, with everyone getting a nice moment.
