He’s Getting There: Gunther Beginning To Move Up The WWE Ladder

First time. There are several talented wrestlers on the WWE roster and it is difficult for someone to stand out. You can tell when someone does something that goes above and beyond the rest of the roster and it makes sense for WWE to want to push those stars. Now one of the bigger names in WWE is moving up the ladder a bit, at least when it comes to live events.

WWE is currently on a European tour and held a live event in Bologna, Italy on Wednesday. The match included Damian Priest retaining the World Heavyweight Championship in a four way match over Jey Uso, Chad Gable and Gunther. This marks Gunther’s first shot at the title outside of a dark match last year. There is no word on if Gunther is expected to move into the main event scene going forward. He has entered the King Of The Ring tournament, which will begin next week.

Opinion: Gunther moving up into the main event scene feels like a case of sooner rather than later and that is what we are getting here. He dominated the Intercontinental Title scene for so long and it makes sense for WWE to start going in this direction. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Gunther going into the title scene around the time of Bash In Berlin, and this might be the start of where we are going.
