So that’s how it went down. Over the last few weeks leading up to Tables, Ladders and Chairs, the big question was how things would go with Braun Strowman. He was written off TV a few weeks back with a horrible elbow injury but had one of the biggest matches of his career scheduled for the pay per view. It wasn’t clear how WWE was going to handle things, but now we have an answer.
Tonight at Tables, Ladders and Chairs, Strowman did appear and won the match, but didn’t exactly wrestle. After the bell rang, Strowman came out but so did Apollo Crews, Bobby Roode, Chad Gable, Finn Balor and the returning Kurt Angle, all armed with chairs. The group beat Corbin down and Strowman got the pin with a single foot on Corbin’s chest. The result means that Strowman will face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble and Corbin is out of power on Monday Night Raw.
There’s already fallout. Check out this recap of everything that happened:
Opinion: They didn’t have much of a choice with this whole thing and they did about as well as they could have all things considered. Strowman isn’t ready to do anything physical yet and they had to find some way to have him win for the desired results. This worked out perfectly fine and tied into a lot of the other things going on over at Monday Night Raw. It’s a good way out of a bad situation and there’s nothing wrong with that.
