Farewell? AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works as there is now another major promotion where wrestlers can find work. As a result, it can make a big difference when a wrestler goes to or from AEW, especially if WWE is interested in them. Former AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman has been removed from the roster page on AEW’s official website. This comes after Friedman lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe in the main event of Saturday’s Worlds End pay per view. There is nothing to indicate that Friedman has left AEW, though his contract is believed to be expiring at some point in 2024, if it has not already done so. There have also been rumors that Friedman signed a new AEW deal earlier this year.

Opinion: While there is a chance, it would be hard to fathom Friedman leaving AEW. He has been one of their biggest stars for a very long time now and set the record for longest World Title reign. While we’ll have to see where he appears next, the mere idea that he could be leaving is rather interesting. I don’t believe he’ll be leaving, but my goodness that could be a game changer for AEW.
