He’s Out: WWE Making Change To Commentary Team Starting This Week

Down to two. Commentary is one of the most important parts of any wrestling event, as the commentators serve multiple roles. Not only are they the familiar voices that fans recognize every week, but they are also the guides to the show. The commentary teams tell the fans where they are supposed to go and that can change everything. Now WWE is making a change to one of its most important teams.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Oh No Bay Bay: Injury Update On Adam Cole’s In-Ring Return Hopes

According to PWInsider.com, the first SmackDown of the year will see a change in commentary, as Michael Cole will no longer be calling the show. Instead, the commentary will be handled by Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves, who have been calling the show with Cole since August 2023. Cole will continue to call Monday Night Raw along with Wade Barrett. There is no word on why the change is being made.

Opinion: WWE does this every so often and I’m glad to see the company shifting away from a three man booth. I’m still not sure why WWE felt that was a necessary move for so long and now things seem to be changing in quite the big way. Cole being there to help mentor Patrick was a good thing but it’s time to get things down to two rather than three, as there isn’t much of a need.
