Go For The Gold: WWE Announces Major Title Match For Next Week

On the line. Titles are one of the most important things in all of wrestling. Someone holding a big title belt tells fans who they should be focusing on as they are often the biggest stars in the company. It can make a big difference when a title change takes place, which means a title match has to be set up. The first half of that is covered and now we are going to be seeing one rather soon.

This week on Monday Night Raw, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was in the ring and asked who he would be facing at the Royal Rumble before going on to WrestleMania 40. Jinder Mahal interrupted and challenged Rollins, with a fight breaking out. Later in the night, WWE announced that a title match between the two will take place on the January 15 Monday Night Raw.

Opinion: Mahal interfering was a surprise moment and now we are getting a title match out of it, though I don’t think it taking place on television instead of at the Royal Rumble is that much of a stretch. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Rollins retain and then immediately have to deal with whomever is coming up for him at the Royal Rumble. That could be a few people, but for now he has to deal with Mahal.
