Rey Mysterio has announced that he has undergone knee surgery for an undisclosed injury. Mysterio revealed the surgery in a Facebook post and said that he will be back soon for revenge on Santos Escobar. This comes after Escobar turned on Mysterio and attacked him last week on SmackDown, damaging Mysterio’s knee in the process. According to Haus Of Wrestling, Mysterio’s surgery was to repair a torn meniscus, which will keep him out of action for six to eight weeks. He is expected to be back in time for the Royal Rumble.
Mysterio is a legend in his own time. Check out what he has done in recent years:
Opinion: That isn’t the longest recovery time so things could certainly be worse. Hopefully Mysterio is back in the ring even sooner than expected and now his knee should be better than it was before. At the same time, it’s nice to see WWE using this injury to help build up a storyline. Rather than just having Mysterio leave to deal with surgery, now he is going to have a built in eud for what he comes back and that is exactly how it should go.
How has Mysterio been doing lately? How will his feud with Escobar go? Let us know in the comments below.
