The Jumping Bomb Angels would be so proud of the titles. Over the last few years, the Women’s Revolution has taken hold of WWE like almost nothing else. As a result, the women’s division has had a rocket attached to its back and turned into one of the most important things in the company. This has led to an announcement of Women’s Tag Team Titles, and now we might know a bit more about their debut.
According to Cagesideseats.com, the Women’s Tag Team Titles could debut as soon as the Royal Rumble. The titles have been rumored for several months now and were officially announced this week on Monday Night Raw by Vince McMahon. The titles have existed before in the company, with the original championships existing from May 13, 1983 until February 14, 1989.
Those titles do have a history. Check out one of the matches for the titles, which were incredible at the time:
Opinion: I’m not wild on the titles existing but having them around the Royal Rumble, perhaps even debuting at the show, would make sense. Hopefully they go back and forth between the two shows as there isn’t much of a reason to have a pair, partially due to there not being enough teams around to support two sets of titles. There’s a chance that we could have some very good matches though and that’s always a positive.
