That’s bigger. Starting in 2018, WWE has been in a business relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has seen the nation hosting several premium live events. This has earned WWE tens of millions of dollars and gone quite a long way in making the company more profitable. At the same time, the shows have been controversial due to the Kingdom’s human rights record. Now, the agreement is expected to be expanded even more.

According to ESPN, WWE and Saudi Arabia are expected to announce an enhancement to their current agreement. As part of the enhancement, Saudi Arabia is said to want either the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania to be held in the Kingdom. There is no word on when either of the events would be held there or if WWE has agreed to that part of the deal. WWE returns to Saudi Arabia later this month with King And Queen Of The Ring on May 25.

Opinion: Is there any surprise that this is the likely next step? WWE has been tied to Saudi Arabia for six years now and ultimate the Kingdom holds so much power over the company due to having that much money. It should not be a surprise that we are seeing this happen and now we might be seeing some of the biggest shows of the year heading to Saudi Arabia, whether fans like it or not.
