Down The Line: Big E. Offers Update On His Health Status, When He Could Know His Wrestling Future

On the mend? Injuries are some of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler as you never know when you might see someone put on the shelf for a long time, if not ever. That appeared to be the case a few years ago as a popular star suffered a severe injury and has yet to return to the ring. Now we have an update on his status, which has some new information on his future.

Big E. suffered a neck injury during the March 11, 2022 SmackDown and has not wrestled since. During a recent interview with Sports Talk Philly, Big E. revealed that he will be undergoing another scan in three to six months. Should those scans come back positive and his doctors say he can return to the ring, it is something he will sit down and discuss. At the same time, Big E. said it is not something he spends too much time worrying about and is happy about the path he can take if he does not wrestle. Since his injury, Big E. has appeared on WWE Kickoff Shows as an analyst.

Opinion: This is a logical way to go, as there is no reason to risk the kind of injury that could be so much worse. Another setback could result in Big E. spending the rest of his life in a wheelchair or worse and he seems to understand that. There is nothing wrong with playing things safe and Big E. being ok with that is a great thing. I would love to see Big E. return to the ring, but we could be months away from finding out if that is even the faintest possibility.
