That Didn’t Take Long. Kurt Angle’s WrestleMania 35 Opponent Is……(Officially Announced)

See you on the other side Kurt. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Kurt Angle announced that he would be retiring from in-ring competition at WrestleMania 35. This isn’t exactly a surprise and is arguably long overdue based on Angle’s recent performances. The big question became what Angle would be doing in his final match. Just a week later, we now know the answer.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Angle announced that he would be facing Baron Corbin next month at WrestleMania 35. Angle was given the choice of whom to face and picked Corbin based on their history together over the last few months, which saw Corbin cost Angle his job as General Manager of Monday Night Raw. John Cena had been rumored to be the opponent but was never confirmed.

Opinion: Cena may have been perfect but this does have a story and gives Angle a real chance to go out with a win. I’m not sure anyone was going to buy Angle defeating Cena but a win over Corbin is certainly in the cards. Angle deserves to get to go out with one last feel good moment and it’s not like Corbin is going to be hurt by losing in the highest profile match of his career.
