That’s different. NXT Has been changing in a big way in recent months, mainly due to the amount of wrestlers who have been let go from the company. This comes after NXT did not fare so well overall in the Wednesday Night Wars against AEW Dynamite. That is not the kind of thing that is going to go well for WWE in the long run and now we know what might be coming.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the main problems in NXT are the age and size of wrestlers, meaning that younger and larger wrestlers are likely to be brought in. The idea is that NXT wants to have wrestlers like Roman Reigns who could main event WrestleMania one day in the future. The new direction for NXT was said to be “no more midgets, no one starting in their 30s, they want people who can be box office attractions and main characters”. There is no word on when the changes will be implemented.
You might not be seeing these people much longer. Check out who might not be getting as much focus in NXT going forward:
Opinion: I don’t think there is a lot of surprise in this as NXT has been feeling like it is on a downward trend for a good while. I’m not sure how much of an upgrade the changes are going to be, but something needs to be changed. As a long time NXT fan, I could go for a bit of a reset, but I’m scared of the changes that could be controlled by the people currently making the decisions.
What will these changes mean for NXT? Who will benefit the most? Let us know in the comments below.
