You mean they might have gone too far? Back in October, Roman Reigns was forced to take a leave from WWE due to a recurring case of leukemia. While there is no word on when he’ll be back and his goodbye speech was one of the more emotional moments in a long time, there was a big surprise at the end of the night as Dean Ambrose turned on Seth Rollins. Ambrose brought up Reigns’ illness a few more times, but things have changed a bit for a pretty simple reason.
According to Brad Sheppard on the Oh. You Didn’t Know podcast by way of Ringsidenews.com, Ambrose’s most recent mention of Reigns’ battle with leukemia was considered a step too far. In November, Ambrose mentioned that Reigns would be answering to his maker due to the sins he committed as part of the Shield. Since then, Ambrose’s character has dramatically changed, to the point where he is now talking about the cities smelling bad instead of discussing Reigns.
That was the old Ambrose. Check out the new Ambrose:
Opinion: I’m not sure on this one. On one hand I like the idea of heels going with something more serious and trying to get some better heat like they did in the old days, but at the same time there is a line that can be several steps too far. At the end of the day, Reigns being sick with what could be a fatal disease would be going over that line. That being said, talking about how the cities smells is way too far in the other direction and there needs to be a middle ground.
Which way should Ambrose go? Is the current character a bad idea? Let us know in the comments below.
