That could have been worse. There are all kinds of injuries that can take place during a wrestling match and unfortunately there are only so many ways to prevent them from happening. While wrestlers can be well trained, at some point someone is going to get hut. That appeared to be the case this week, but now it seems that things are nowhere near as bad as expected.

This week’s NXT featured a match between Oba Femi and Joe Gacy, which was stopped when Femi threw Gacy to the mat. According to Fightful Select, the match stoppage was legitimate as it was feared that Gacy had suffered a concussion. However, Gacy was able to walk to the back on his own power and an announcement of his match at Stand & Deliver against Shawn Spears, while originally delayed, was eventually made. The injury scare caused a post match angle between Femi, Josh Briggs and Dijak to be pulled, though it was later held backstage with little time to spare.
This was a bit one. Check out the match, plus the others involved with the segment:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that could have been a lot worse and thankfully nothing wound up going that badly. Gacy landed rather hard and it could have been a lot worse before the injury. Hopefully Gacy doesn’t have any negative effects, but things seem to be ok enough as he is already having a match ready for this weekend’s event. That could have been a big problem but it wound up being quite the relief.
