Over There? Controversial Former World Champion Signs New Contract

She has a new home. There are certain wrestlers throughout the industry who develop a bad reputation for one reason or another. This is the kind of problem that can take a long time to get around and that is the case with some stars today. Now one of the more controversial yet also successful names is resurfacing, but not where you might have expected her to be.

XPW Wrestling has announced that Tessa Blanchard, former Impact Wrestling World Champion, has signed a contract with the promotion and will be making her debut on May 27. Blanchard’s career career slowed down after she vacated the Impact Wrestling World Title in 2020, as she has only wrestled eight matches in the last three years. She also had a falling out with Women of Wrestling and never wrestled for the promotion.

Opinion: XPW is not exactly at the top of the food chain for wrestling promotions, but if Blanchard wants to prove that she has changed, there are worse ideas than working your way up from the bottom. Blanchard is 27 years old and incredibly talented, but there are some issues that have to be dealt with before she can return to the big time. Maybe this is a step in that direction, but it is hardly the greatest headline.
