On the mend? Injuries are a part of the wrestling world and always will be. Wrestling is a physical sport and along the way, you are going to see someone get hurt one way or another. This can lead to a variety of issues, including wrestlers not being able to perform in the ring at their top level. That very well may be the case again for one of the biggest names in the industry today.

This week’s SmackDown featured an in-ring face to face confrontation between WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and #1 contender Kevin Owens prior to their title match this weekend at Bash In Berlin. During the exchange, Owens asked about rumors he had heard regarding Rhodes dealing with a knee injury. Rhodes denied the allegation, but Owens stayed on them, asking why Rhodes did not take a knee during his entrance as usual. There is no word on if Rhodes is dealing with an actual knee problem or if this is just part of the storyline for their match.
This could be interesting. Check out the segment and Rhodes at full speed:
Opinion: This is one of those situations which could go either way. There is always the chance that Rhodes is dealing with a knee issue, but either way it opens the door for something interesting during their match. Owens isn’t the most trustworthy star in the world and now we get to see if he is willing to exploit an injury in someone he considers a friend. It’s good storytelling either way and if it is based on something actually happening, it could be even better.
