Bound to go somewhere. Earlier tonight, Impact Wrestling aired its annual Bound For Glory event. The show is the promotions preeminent special of the year, featuring several major matches and the ends to some of the biggest stories in the company. The show was full of big events, and some of you might not have the time to watch the full three hour edition. That’s where we have you covered.

1. Johnny Impact defeated Austin Aries to become the Impact Wrestling World Champion. This is Impact’s first major World Title and his first time headlining a company’s biggest show of the year. Following the loss, Aries popped up and walked straight to the back as Impact celebrated. There is currently no word on Aries’ future in the promotion, though there is no rumor of him leaving.

2. Tessa Blanchard successfully defended the Knockouts Title against Taya Valkyrie. This was Blanchard’s first pay per view title defense and Valkyrie’s first match with the company since the spring, when she was taken off TV due to visa issues. Blanchard has held the title since since August. At the moment, Blanchard has no next challenger for the Knockouts Title.

3. LAX and Konnan defeated the OGz and King to end the feud between the two teams. The match was a six man tag under Concrete Jungle rules, meaning anything goes and the turnbuckle pads were removed. Earlier in the show, Konnan had been taken out by King and his associates. The match started as a handicap but Konnan later joined in and helped LAX secure the win.

4. Eli’s Drake’s Open Challenge was answered by James Ellsworth, even though the challenge was only for people from New York City. Ellsworth’s explanation was that he used to date someone from Staten Island and lived in her basement. Drake won the match in short order but was attacked by newly inducted Hall of Famer Abyss, who put Drake through at able after the match.

5. Impact Wrestling announced their next three hour pay per view will take place on January 6 at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee under the name Homecoming. This will be the first event under the name with the theme of Impact Wrestling returning to the venue where their original TV tapings were held. Since leaving the city to go to Orlando, Impact Wrestling returned for a house show in 2010.

Number five has a future.

IMPACT Returns to "The Asylum" in Nashville, TN for HOMECOMING Jan 6th, 2019 LIVE on Pay-Per-View!

Opinion: The show was certainly eventful with some things that fans might like more than others, but it’s better than not having the show air whatsoever. Impact Wrestling has come a long way in the last few months and hopefully things continue to improve. Announcing the next pay per view this far in advance is a good sign, as it means they have plans going forward and a goal to reach.
