Can You Blame Them? WWE Morale Reportedly “Devastated” Following Recent Major Changes

It makes sense. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the acquisition of WWE by Endeavor, resulting in WWE being merged with the UFC into the newly formed TKO Group. The merger was officially finalized last week and as a result, some changes have taken place behind the scenes. Not all of them have been the most well received and now we are seeing some of the fallout.

On Friday, Endeavor laid off more than 100 WWE office employees in a variety of departments, with multiple top executives leaving the company as well. According to PWInsider.com, this has resulted in morale among the employees being “decimated” over the weekend. WWE President Nick Khan has said that the layoffs are now over, though there is no guarantee that wrestlers will not be released as well.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that shouldn’t come as anything resembling a surprise as having that many employees let go is never going to be well accepted. While they might just be names to people on the outside, those people were likely friends in and around the office and now they are just gone. Hopefully Khan is telling the truth by saying the layoffs are over, as they can be a big problem in any office.
