For the first time in a long time. Ever since “Wrestlemania XXXIII”, the “Monday Night Raw” brand hasn’t really had a World Champion. Sure someone holds the belt but they haven’t been seen on WWE TV in over two months. That champion would be the ever absent Brock Lesnar, who will be making up for some lost time next week.

As announced this week on “Monday Night Raw”, Lesnar will be appearing on next week’s show to deal with Samoa Joe, who attacked Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman earlier tonight. Samoa Joe is scheduled to challenge Lesnar for the Universal Title at “Great Balls of Fire” on July 9 in Dallas, Texas.

Opinion: I’ve long since thought that one of the major issues for “Monday Night Raw” over the last few months has been the lack of a champion. Really, other than the worthless midcard title, what else is there for most of the roster to fight over other than a shot at Lesnar? At some point he actually has to show up or everyone is fighting for no logical reason. Having him around should boost interest, though just showing up once every three months isn’t going to work.

Who do you think wins at “Great Balls of Fire”? If Samoa Joe doesn’t do it, who takes the title off Lesnar? Let us know in the comments below.
