Out of five, one. The main event of “Great Balls of Fire” is set after the Fatal Five Way main event at “Extreme Rules 2017”. At tonight’s show, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe went at it for a chance to face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at next month’s pay per view. It took nearly half an hour but we finally have a #1 contender.

Tonight it was Samoa Joe becoming #1 contender when he made Balor submit to the Koquina Clutch. This sets up Samoa Joe vs. Lesnar at “Great Balls of Fire” on July 9 in Lesnar’s first title defense since winning the title on April 2. This goes laong with the predicted result as Samoa Joe became the heavy betting favorite over the weekend.

Opinion: I can go with this. Samoa Joe is a VERY interesting opponent for Lesnar and, assuming it’s not just a quick squash to waste everyone’s time, this could be one heck of a fight between two bigger guys who know how to beat each other up. It’s more interesting than another Rollins shot and that’s a good thing when the company hasn’t been the most interesting as of late.
