Please be permanent. There are a lot of wrestling shows to cover on any given week in WWE. You can barely go a single day of the week without having some form of WWE programming and that can become quite the issue over time. At some point you are just going to get burned out and it does not help when the fans do not seem all that interested in what is being presented. That has been the case for a long time with one show in particular, but it seems that we may be getting a little reprieve, at least for this coming week.
WWE.com has announced that there will be a change to this week’s 205 Live. Due to the main WWE rosters going overseas this week for a European tour, this week’s 205 Live will take place at Full Sail University instead of in the same arena as SmackDown. There is no word on if the advertised NXT UK superstars will still be appearing on the show. At the same time, this seems to only be a one off change instead of a permanent move for the event. 205 Live has long suffered from low attendance due to fans leaving after SmackDown goes off the air.
Here are some examples of that bad attendance:
And that’s a shame as it’s a good show. Check out some highlights:
Opinion: I really hope that this is going to be a permanent change but WWE seems to think that having the show air after SmackDown is the best course. Is it really that big of a deal to air the thing live? Apparently they can run the show perfectly well on Wednesday night so why not just let it be at Full Sail where the fans are clearly more interested? They have already turned the title into the NXT Cruiserweight Title so just take the next step and go the full way. The crowd situation at 205 Live is just sad and unfair to the wrestlers, but that has been the case for years now. Why not just change things?
Do you like the idea of the move? Will WWE make it permanent? Let us know in the comments below.
