What Is The Backup Plan If Braun Strowman Isn’t Ready For Tables, Ladders And Chairs?

Just in case. Last night on Monday Night Raw, Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin in a TLC match was announced for next month’s Tables, Ladders And Chairs pay per view. The stakes are pretty high as Strowman has a Universal Title shot on the line. However, after his match on Monday, Strowman’s elbow was destroyed by Corbin, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley. It turns out there’s something to it, and it might not be good.

According to PW Insider Elite audio, Strowman’s injury is legitimate and he’s going to need actual surgery. At the moment, the working theory is that he will be back in time for the pay per view, but there is still a chance that he might not be 100%. If that’s the case, the backup plan is to have Strowman still wrestle in the match, but to completely destroy Corbin in a one sided affair so that he can then take the next several weeks off and recover before the Royal Rumble in January.

Opinion: Hopefully this winds up being ok, though having Strowman destroy Corbin in short order might be more interesting than having the two of them work a competitive match. Strowman winning feels like the most obvious ending in the world given the stipulations, but it wouldn’t shock me to have WWE throw us a curve ball at the last minute. With any luck, Strowman will be fine and make short work of Corbin anyway.
