Farewell? Retirement is a tricky concept in wrestling as you will see some wrestlers take their time to officially wrap up their careers. Sometimes a wrestler will want to finish up at a special moment or perhaps at a milestone in their career. That might be the case again with a wrestling legend, as a new report is saying that she is set to retire upon reaching a special anniversary.

According to Tokyo Sports, Meiko Satomura is expected to retire from the ring and end her career. There is no confirmation of when this will happen, but it is expected to be in April 2025, which will mark thirty years in Satomura’s in-ring career. Satomura is currently wrestling on the Japanese live event tour but has not wrestled on television in over a year. There is no word on who she could be facing or where the match will be airing.

She is certainly a legend. Check out Satomura some of her time in WWE:

Opinion: This is something that shouldn’t come as a big surprise as Satomura has been in the ring for a very long time now and seems like she is winding it down. Getting to retire around that big of a milestone is a special moment and Satomura has certainly owned it over the years. If nothing else, Satomura can move into a coaching role full time and do that as long as she likes, as she could be incredibly valuable.

What do you think of Satomura? Who should she face in her retirement match? Let us know in the comments below.
